Beginner's Solution for the Cube

If you are here, you have no idea how to solve the cube, correct? By the time you have completed, and mastered the steps from this very page, you will be able to solve the cube every single time in a matter of a few minutes. This is a simple and logical system that can easily 'do the job' of solving the cube. If you have no knowledge of the cube, you will be able to solve the cube after the end of the steps below. Though this is NOT a system for speed, it is a system for simplicity. Now, if you plan to go for speed, and you are a beginner, don't let these pages discourage you. There will always be time to improve speed. The fundamentals are crucial. As long as you practice, you gain a cube 'logic' and begin to understand how the cube really works.

If you know how to solve the cube, but not an expert yet to understand my 'expert solution' (see my Rubik's Cube page), then I recommend my intermediate solution page.

Steps for the solving the Cube
1) Solve the first layer
2) Solve the second layer
3) Solve the last layer
Now, to solve the cube...

Once you have finished learning the beginner's method with the interactive animations from the above links, I recommend learning standard Rubik's Cube notation for learning algorithms online. This is the standard notation used by nearly every speedcuber and nearly every normal Rubik's Cube solution.
Here it is:
R = Right side clockwise
R'= Right side counter-clockwise.
L = Left side clockwise
L'= Left side counter-clockwise
U = Up, or top, side clockwise
U'= Up, or top, side counter-clockwise
D = Down side clockwise
D'= Down side counter-clockwise
F = Front side clockwise
F'= Front side counter-clockwise
B = Back side clockwise
B'= Back side counter-clockwise
M = Middle Slice upward
M'= Middle Slice downward
Just imagine a clock in every face for the notation. The "²" just means to turn that face twice.
